How to use Facebook offers

Facebook recently rolled out their new ‘Facebook Offers’ program to select Business pages inside facebook. These offers could potentially be very valuable for a traditional bricks and mortar business.

In this post, I am going to show you How to use facebook offers and I will also show you how to set them up in the video below.

Page admins that take advantage of this new feature will be able to give discounts to their business via their facebook page. These discounts or offers will start to show up in your news feed if you happen to like one of the pages that are using this offer.

To claim the offer, all you need to do is to click on the Get offer link that you will see inside the news feed from that business…it’s a pretty simple process.

Once you have clicked on the ‘get Offer’ link, you will be sent an email to the email address that is registered with facebook… ie the one you log in with. You can print this email and then take it along to the business to redeem your discount or offer. If you want to save the trees, then you can also bring the offer along on your mobile phone and redeem it at the business by showing your phone’s screen.

I wanted to show you How to use Facebook offers because I believe this could be a big part of the marketing strategy for a lot of businesses. The great thing about this is that there is NO COST to set this up.

The email will be sent to you to claim the offer, but if for some reason you cant find it in your email inbox, go back to the business page that has the offer, and find the offer on their page, and click on Resend Offer.  If your preferred email address isn’t there, then you can easily add another email address. It’s that simple.

The exciting piece for Businesses:

When someone claims an offer, a story will get added to their timeline and all of their friends (by default) will be able to see this. The other great part is that they can share this offer with their friends. This is a great viral marketing aspect happening here for the business with the offer.

If you are the person who has claimed you’re an offer, then you can change who sees that you have claimed an offer before it gets posted to your timeline.

The other piece that I would like to mention when you are learning how to use facebook offers is that an expiry date can be set for the offer and also you can set the term and conditions.

This is very important; as you want to make sure that you are not giving away the farm when giving things away. You can set a custom amount of things/items or discounts so you can budget accordingly.
